During the first test played in Durban, Australia versus South Africa tests, heated exchanges and verbal banters have been regularly seen.

Australian cricket team is known for playing their cricket with sledding and sometimes abusing their opponents but this time even the South Africa have not lagged behind.

At the end of Day 4 of the first test, the players were going back to their dressing rooms and the ground at Kingsmead has one staircase that takes you through to your places. Just then, sharing a heated exchange David Warner and Quinton De Cock were caught by the CCTV camera available there. It was very ugly viewing, as the video of this conversation went viral in a jiffy.

Teammates of the two were seen separating them to protect from any chance of a physical altercation.

Following this off-field verbal tussle between David Warner and Quinton de Kock on the fourth day in Durban, Cricket Australia has said it is up to the on-field umpires and the match referee to decide their response and action with regard to the incident.

Cricket Australia at the start of day 5 stated in a media release,”The incident was discussed between the two team managers and the match referee last night and it is now in the hands of the on-field umpires and the match referee. Both teams were reminded by the match referee of the spirit in which the game should be played.”

South Africa team manager Mohammed Moosajee said: “It”s rather unfortunate that the incident took place and certainly not in the spirit of the game. The match referee has spoken to us after the day”s play. We will await any further communication from the ICC around this incident.”

This kind of behavior on and off the field has no place in our beautiful game.
