VIDEO : Epic Celebration by Jos Buttler as MI clinch IPL TitleĀ :- The nerve-wrecking final at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium had left the no nails on fingers. It was arguably the most exciting final a tournament has ever seen. The sad part about such matches is it will leave one side jubilant, ecstatic while the other distressed, tormented and grief-stricken.
Jos Buttler played a pivotal role for MI in early part of the season opening the innings. He teamed up really well with Parthiv Patel to give Mumbai brisk starts. Improvisation is a vital aspect of his batting and he brought it to good effect playing his trademark ramp shot for six when the bowlers least expected.
In 10 matches he scored 272 runs at a decent average of 27 a staggering strike rate of 153.
However in second half of the season, Lendl Simmons took his place and he had to leave IPL before playoffs to join England for their ODI series against South Africa. Buttler however made a big impact for Mumbai Indians during his little stay with them.
As his team was facing the Supergiant at Hyderabad in all important final, he was keeping track of proceedings from UK.He posted a hilarious video on Instagram. He probably just had his shower and was seen wrapped in a towel watching TV with the last ball about to be bowled.
As Mitchell Johnson ran in with 4 runs required off the ultimate delivery he screamed something like “Rohit..Rohit” and when the batsman was run out off the last delivery, he started dancing and almost dropped his towel!!
The video went viral and has received more than 136,075 likes in first 18 hours on Instagram. He again posted one more photo dressed in MI jersey with bottles of champegne in each hand.
Jos Buttler is now all set to face South Africa in a 3-match ODI series starting on 24 May before the much-anticipated Champions Trophy!!
