Kuldeep Yadav produced a match-winning performance for team India in yesterday’s ODI match against Australia at iconic Eden Garden’s, Kolkata which changed the course of the game. India won the match by 50 runs to take a 2-0 lead in the series. The young Indian spinners took wickets of Matthew Wade, Ashton Agar, and Pat Cummins to leave the Australian team in big trouble.
Australia was bowled out for 202 in 43.1 overs. Kuldeep Yadav struggled in the first few overs. He became the third Indian bowler to take a hattrick in an ODI, the other two being Chetan Sharma and Kapil Dev. It is a great achievement for the young Chinamen bowler. He has shown promise to with his bowling in ODI cricket. He played all ODI matches against West Indies and 2 matches against Sri Lanka.
The young Chinamen bowler came to limelight during the Under 19 World Cup in 2014 held in UAE. He took a hattrick during that tournament against Scotland taking wickets of Nick Farrar, Kyle Stirling, and Baum to break the backbone of the opposition batting lineup. It has been a great 2017 for Kuldeep Yadav as he made his test debut against Australia in Dharamsala. If he continues to work hard and bowl with great control, he could be in the 2019 World Cup squad.
Kuldeep Yadav has shown promise with his variations. With the tough overseas tour coming up in the next few months, the young Chinamen bowler could play an important role. In that, Under 19 hattrick against Scotland played Dubai, India bowled out Scotland for a paltry 88. He took 4 wickets for 28 runs in 10 overs. Despite losing 5 wickets, the Indian Under 19 team won the match with 165 balls to spare. Kuldeep Yadav was named a man of the match.
