As the box office match of Champions Trophy was nearing, the exciting was soaring every passing minute. However the excitement was like a hot air balloon whose air went off very quickly as the contest turned out to be a one sided one, with Pakistan refusing to put up any fight.
It was India all the way as they thoroughly outplayed Pakistan in all 3 departments of the game. India”s top 4 all got fifties and Hardik Pandya coming in last over played a quickfire hand of 20 off 6 balls. India posted 319-3 in a 48-over rain-curtailed game leaving Pakistan their tasks cut out.
It was a downright relinquishment by Pakistanis in the hands of Indians. Barring Azhar Ali, no other batsman showed the intent to spend time out in middle. Some of the dismissal were quite soft and the manner of defeat was humiliating.
It was natural such kind of performance will leave the fans fuming. What is the first thing that Pakistanis do when their team loses to India in ICC tournaments? Of course, what they have been doing all these years that is smashing Television sets!
After the defeat against India in Birmingham, Pakistanis again vented out their anger by smashing the TV sets. Well, it is nothing new!
Pakistan play South Africa at the same venue on 7th June and Sri Lanka at The Cardiff on 12 June.
