The veteran leg-spinner from South Africa bowled a stunning spell by picking a hattrick in Pakistan Super League match for Multan Sultans against Quetta at Sharjah International Stadium, on 3rd March 2018. It was an amazing spell of bowling by Imran Tahir who showed his class with his quality leg spin bowling.
The incident happened in the 16th over. Quetta batsman Hasan Khan came down the track and Imran Tahir bowled him. Imran Tahir bowled John Hastings on the 3rd ball with a googly. On the fourth ball, Imran Tahir bowled a quicker one and trapped Rahat Ali LBW. Quetta was bowled out for 102 runs in 15.4 overs. Imran Tahir finished with 3 wickets in 2.4 overs and gave away just 19 runs.
Multan Sultans chased down the target with 20 balls to spare and won the match by 9 wickets. He was picked by Chennai Super Kings franchise for IPL 11. Imran Tahir picked his 2nd hattrick in T20 cricket.
He has 1 T20I 5 wicket haul for South Africa against New Zealand. He took 5/24 at Auckland in 2017. In the IPL 10, he played for Rising Pune Supergiants and took 18 wickets from 12 matches at an economy of 7.85 runs per over.
Imran Tahir became the 3rd bowler after Mohammad Aamir and Junaid Khan to pick a hattrick in Pakistan Super League history. The leg-spinner became the first spinner to create history to achieve such a big feat.
