Video Of Rohit Sharma And Shubman Gill Mimicking Kuldeep Yadav’s Batting Stance Goes Viral

A humorous video of Indian captain Rohit Sharma and batsman Shubman Gill mimicking Kuldeep Yadav’s batting stance during the Ranchi Test against England on Sunday, February 25, has become viral on social media.

India, starting their second innings on Day 3 at 219/7, extended their total to 307, maintaining a 46-run lead over England’s first innings. Kuldeep and Dhruv Jurel, who had frustrated England in the last session on Day 2, continued to resist the visitors on Day 3. They notably formed a crucial 76-run partnership for the eighth wicket before Kuldeep was bowled by James Anderson.

A video went viral on social media during the lower-order’s resistance, showing Rohit and Gill playfully copying Kuldeep’s batting stance in the dressing room, observed by opener Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Sunil Gavaskar, the Indian cricket legend, expressed his admiration for Kuldeep’s batting stance, and in response to a side-on video comparing it to Steve Smith’s, Gavaskar’s comment left his teammates amused.

Kuldeep, who played a resilient innings of 28 off 131 balls with only two fours, was unfortunately dismissed. While defending a short of good length from Anderson that angled back, the ball struck his toes and deflected backward, dislodging the stumps.

After Kuldeep’s departure, wicketkeeper-batsman Jurel continued to resist England’s bowlers. He partnered with Akash Deep (9) to add 40 runs for the ninth wicket, ultimately being the last man dismissed in the Indian innings for an impressive 90.

Jurel’s resistance came to an end with an exceptional delivery from Tom Hartley that turned past the batter’s defense, hitting the stumps. The wicketkeeper-batsman’s innings of 90 was compiled from 149 balls, including six fours and four sixes.

Kuldeep Yadav was among three batters who played over 100 balls in India’s initial innings

In India’s first innings against England in Ranchi, just three batters played more than 100 balls, and Kuldeep was one of them. Opener Jaiswal contributed 73 runs from 117 balls, featuring eight fours and one six.

As previously noted, Kuldeep spent 131 balls for his determined 28, and Jurel faced 149 balls for his 90. On the English side, emerging off-spinner Shoaib Bashir concluded with figures of 5/119, and Hartley secured 3/68.
