The India team spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin made his county debut for Worcestershire against Gloucestershire after being rested from the ODI team for the Sri Lanka series. He proved his class right from the beginning playing a brilliant knock of 36 runs batting at No. 6 and then picking up 3 wickets.
He registered his first county wicket in the 10th over of his spell, when Gloucestershire’s wicketkeeper-batsman Gareth Roderick chipped one back to Ashwin. He went on take three wickets in the match giving away 94 runs. And 2nd Innings 34-8-68-5 against Gloucestershire. In Match Ashwin Taken 8 Wickets.
In an interview with ESPN after the match, the Tamil Nadu born cricketer said, “I could be called to play in the Australia series. But I have indicated that I will be available for all four games. As of now, there are no communication channels open but they will be short so I’ll probably get a clearer idea after the Sri Lanka series,”

The ace spinner will face his teammate from the Indian team Cheteshwar Pujara when his team takes on Nottinghamshire scheduled from September 5.
