Bangladesh and India were involved in another thrilling match during the Nidahas Trophy T20I tri-series finals played at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo on Sunday. The match went to the last ball as Dinesh Karthik scored 29 off 8 balls and helped Men in Blue clinch an unlikely win. With 34 runs to win from 12 balls, Bangladesh fans thought they can beat Team India for the first time in T20I’s.
After Dinesh Karthik hit a six off the last ball, the Bangladesh fans lost their temper and got angry after their narrow 4 wickets loss. Before this match, India defeated Bangladesh in 2016 T20 World Cup held in India by just 1 run. Both teams in the past 2 to 3 years had close matches. Team India defeated Bangladesh in all 8 T20I matches that they played so far.
In the finals of Nidahas Trophy 2018, Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and invited Bangladesh to bat. Bangladesh lost 3 early wickets but Sabbir Rahman made 77 runs, Mahmdullah 21 and Mehidy Hasan 19 quickfire runs helped Tigers recover to 166 for 8. When Bangladesh play India, the Tigers want to play their best cricket and defeat the Indian team.
Pakistani fans get frustrated and brake their TV sets losing to arch-rivals India. Losing yesterday’s match against India, Bangladesh fans also did not react well by shouting and screaming. Soumya Sarkar bowled the last ball, Dinesh Karthik hit a six and Sarkar could not control his emotions. In the 19th over, Rubel Hossain gave away 22 runs, changing the course of the game in India’s favor. India’s experience of playing big matches came to the rescue while Bangladesh lacked the ability to win a closely fought match.
