India ended day 1 on a high after dominating windies side in all the three sessions. Though Rahul failed miserably, the brilliance of Prithvi Shaw is being spoken highly in the social media now. Pujara’s quick 86 on his home ground also powered the scoreboard on day 1.
Virat Kohli, the Indian skipper has been the show stealer towards the end of the day. His brisk 72 helped the side to reach a score of 364. Marking his appearance on the field after a couple of weeks, the Indian icon started to make his bat do the talking. The 29-year old Virat Kohli scored just 4 boundaries and started to tick the scoreboard with his jet-speed running between the wickets.
A couple of fans came out to the ground to click a selfie with Kohli who acknowledged their gesture by posing with them. The incident took place during his partnership with Rahane when the batsman took some time off for drinks break. However, the fans were then carried away by the security officials.
Virat Kohli now crossed the tally of Steve Smith when he crossed 52 runs today. He, who is already the top-ranked batsman in the longest format of the game will resume his innings tomorrow and is expected to make the best use of the opportunity to set some records.
