There are medium pacers, fast bowlers and ” really” fast bowlers. Mitc”Hell” Johnson has always thrived in the third category. He played the role of being the Australian bowling attack spearhead for over 8 years. Johnson was picked in the national squad for the Ashes in 2006 but didn”t get a single game.
However, when he did get a chance against Sri Lanka not long after, he seized the opportunity by picking up a 4 wicket haul. Though often criticised for his peculiar bowling style, Johnson still remains one of the best left-arm bowlers in the modern era because of his ability to cover up his weaknesses by bowling those unplayable deliveries.
Mitchell Johnson met with a lot of injuries during his international career that lasted for 9 years which probably cut him short from having better records. Nevertheless, he had a successful career, picking up 590 international wickets.
Johnson”s most successful period was during the 2013-14 Ashes. He picked up an impressive 37 wickets, troubling even the best of batsmen. Take a look at all 37 of them here.
