The Indian side came victorious in the third T20I at Sydney today. Kohli”s class and Krunal”s brilliance with the ball ticked the boxes for the visitors as the side maintained their unbeaten T20I steak over an year. This win has really brought a lot of smiles in the Indian camp as they are now geared up to face the hosts in whites from December 6.
When the Australian scoreboard kept accelerating towards a huge total, Krunal”s spell made the difference. A masterclass 4/36 from him turned the game in India”s favour and he even bagged Man of the match award for the same. It is to be noted that he picked the wicket of Maxwell for the second time after a severe trashing at Brisbane. Several critics and fans who took a dig at him for his poor outing at the first T20I are appreciating him for being effective.
Krunal”s spell is now the best one registered by a spinner in a T20I at Australia. He achieved this feat on his very sixth T20I and the team will be looking forward to continue his fine run. D”arcy Short and McDermott fell in consecutive deliveries while Maxwell and Carey sacrificed their wickets towards the end of his spell.
Cricket Australia has posted a video of his performance today in their official social media handles. It termed the spell as the one when it mattered the most. In the absence of his siblings Hardik, Krunal has certainly made the best use of his opportunities and it will be interesting if he will be considered for ODI”S starting January 12.
