What is the most bizarre dismissal you have ever seen? Well, you might reconsider your choice after having a look at this one. Sri Lankan batsman Chamara Silva”s dismissal in a Mercantile match between MAS Unichela & Teejay Lanka at P. Sara Oval is freakiest dismissal you will ever see.
As the bowler was coming on to bowl, Silva went deep in his crease, so far deep that not knowing at all he had gone almost a couple of yards behind the stumps! With all the stumps exposed, he was always a goner when the bowler hit the stumps. And so was the case! Bowler managed to hit the top of leg stump sending Silva back.
Chamara Silva”s case is another of many many talented prodigies who failed to get going at international level. He played 11 tests, 75 ODIS and 16 T20Is for Sri Lanka. His averages in all 3 formats are below par. He could never cement his place in the Sri Lankan side. He last played for Sri Lanka in November 2011. At 37 now, his chances of a national comeback are long gone.
