Ravichandran Ashwin proved why he has been a key bowler once again by picking a four-wicket haul on the first day of the Edgbaston test. His affair with Alastair Cook has resumed as he knocked down the former English skipper for a minimal score. Ashwin is the lone spinner in the squad and provided better assistance from another end to the steamers.
Dinesh Karthik, his mate from Tamil Nadu was seen cheering Ashwin behind the wickets. Instantaneous feedbacks from the keeper helped “Ashley” ( fondly called by DK) to bowl accurately.
A lot of banter between them in the local language (Tamil) really made things tough for the fielders at slips. As recorded in stump mic, Karthik was seen asking Ashwin to bowl a peculiar type of delivery to the batsman as per the movements observed by him.
Ash responded to his suggestions and the boys were ecstatic after his fantabulous spell yesterday.
