Team India skipper Virat Kohli and former South Africa cricketer AB de Villiers share a great rapport both on and off the field. Representing Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League (IPL), both the cricketers have developed a close bond over the years. Ahead of the 13th season, Kohli and de Villiers were involved in a cryptic Twitter banter.

As they gear up to meet again for IPL 2020, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers got engaged in a cryptic social media conversation exchanging a few messages publically. Both of them will once again be Bangalore’s main hopes in their pursuit — to lift the trophy for the first time. They have played consistently well in the IPL over the years but the franchise has remained unsuccessful in winning the title even once although they made the final on three occasions.

It all started when AB De Villiers asked Virat Kohli what was he doing and the India skipper promptly replied with two emojis, suggesting he was killing time sitting in front of the TV. Then the Proteas player replied with an emoji of a cracker, which Kohli didn’t understand and he immediately sent a few question marks to express his confusion.

De Villiers soon responded with a video sofa set that exploded in a few moments and the words “Get off your ass” emerging. The idea was to suggest Kohli to ditch the TV and not sit idle on the sofa.

Here is the detailed conversation:
