While Virat Kohli continues to dominate headlines for his on-field performances and public presence, the former India captain has also been quietly strengthening his position in the real estate sector. Along with his wife, actor Anushka Sharma, Kohli has been steadily investing in high-value properties, viewing real estate as a long-term and stable asset.

These investments reflect a strategic approach to wealth management, aligning with Kohli’s broader business mindset that extends far beyond cricket.

Major Alibaug Purchases Signal Long-Term Vision

One of the most notable additions to the couple’s property portfolio is their recent land acquisition in Zirad village near Awas Beach in Alibaug. The purchase involves two adjoining land parcels spanning more than five acres, acquired for nearly ₹38 crore. Official property records indicate that the necessary stamp duty and registration charges were also paid, underlining the scale and seriousness of the investment.

This deal adds to an earlier purchase made in 2022, when Kohli and Sharma bought an eight-acre plot in the same coastal region. On that land, they have since constructed a luxurious villa featuring premium facilities such as a temperature-controlled swimming pool and dedicated staff quarters.

Alibaug, known for its serene environment and proximity to Mumbai, has become a preferred destination for celebrities, and Kohli’s continued investment there highlights his confidence in the area’s future value.

A Diverse Portfolio Across Prime Locations

Beyond Alibaug, Kohli’s real estate holdings extend to some of India’s most desirable urban locations. In Mumbai, he owns a high-end sea-facing apartment in Worli, one of the city’s most prestigious residential neighbourhoods. The cricketer also has a spacious home in Gurugram’s DLF Phase 1, an upscale area known for its luxury living and strong infrastructure.

Together, these properties showcase a well-diversified portfolio that balances metropolitan luxury with tranquil retreat-style living. Kohli’s investments underline a clear pattern: selecting prime locations with long-term growth potential. As he continues to expand his ventures off the field, real estate appears to be a key pillar in securing his financial future well beyond his playing career.
