Indian chief selector Chetan Sharma has made a startling revelation concerning ace batter and former captain Virat Kohli in an explosive undercover operation. He claimed that Virat began to think of himself as being bigger than the game, which annoyed the BCCI, which then took advantage of his financial slump to remove him from the leadership position.

In a sting operation, All-India selection committee head and former Indian bowler Chetan Sharma made a startling admission concerning former captain and star batter Virat Kohli. The 57-year-old former fast bowler claims that Virat began to think of himself as greater than the game, which didn’t sit well with the BCCI, who later took advantage of his bad performance.

Virat had made the decision to stand down from the T20IVi captaincy following the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, but he was eager to continue leading India in ODIs and Tests. However, he was fired from the 50-over position in December 2021.

“Jab player thoda bada ho jaye to usko lagta hai ki vo bahut bada ho gaya, board se bhi bada ho gaya” – Chetan Sharma on Virat Kohli

Chief selector Chetan claims that BCCI was unhappy with Virat because he had begun to think of himself as bigger than the game. As a result, BCCI was eager to remove him from the leadership position and took advantage of his difficult period in 2021 to replace him with Rohit Sharma, who, in Chetan’s opinion, wasn’t the best option.

“Jab player thoda bada ho jaye to usko lagta hai ki vo bahut bada ho gaya, board se bhi bada ho gaya. Toh fir usko lagta hai ki mere ko toh koi kuch kar he nahi sakta. Mere bina to cricket band ho jayega India mein. Kabhi hua hai? Bade bade aaye, bade bade gaye, cricket to wahi ka wahi rehta hai. Toh vo usne uss samay hit maarne ki kosish kari president ko”, Chetan Sharma was heard saying in a sting video.

(When a player grows in stature, he starts thinking that he was become very big, bigger than the board even. Then he starts thinking that nobody can stand against him. Without him, the cricket will stop. But has that ever happened? Many big players came and went, but cricket is still there; it remains the same. He wanted to confront the then-BCCI president).
