Virat Kohli declines endorsement for this top brand

Team India Virat Kohli is reported to have decided not to extend his six-year association with Pepsi Co. a deal that fetched him crores.

Virat Kohli has maintained that he can”t endorse a brand he doesn”t consume personally And now it appears that the deal would not be extended.

Pepsi Co is keen to have him onboard, the increasing woes over sugary and carbonated drinks are preventing Virat Kohli from resigning the contract.

Virat Kohli endorses 18 brands, with the ones related to food and beverages being Pepsi, Herbalife nutritional supplements , Boost, MRF tyres, Tissot watches, Puma sports gear, Colgate oral care, Audi cars & Samsonite luggage.

In an interview with CNN-IBN, Virat Kohli said, “When I started my fitness turnaround, it was more of a lifestyle thing initially. If something goes away from that, I would not want to be a part of that or be promoting that.”

“If I myself won’t consume such things, I won’t urge others to consume it, just because I am getting money out of it,” Virat Kohli added.

With the decision, Team India Skipper Virat Kohli is unlikely to extend his six year association with Pepsi CO.

Pepsi Co had previously been endorsed by former India captain MS Dhoni For 11 years & they signed on MS Dhoni as a brand endorser in 2005.

“Virat Kohli is contracted with Pepsi until April 30. We are currently negotiating a contract extension with the Pepsi-Co team. Pepsi has been one of our longest & most fruitful associations until now and hopefully we will collaborate with them for years to come.” Cornerstone Sport CEO Bunty Sajdeh in March.
