Royal Challengers Bangalore will begin their IPL 2020 campaign when they lock horns with champions of 2016 – Sunrisers Hyderabad. Virat Kohli will return to action for the first time since March this year and is in line to join MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma in an elite IPL list.

Both teams will look to get off to a winning start and set the records right at the start. However, all eyes will be on Royal Challengers Bangalore, who will end their trophy drought in the cash-rich league. Kohli will also join an elite IPL list if Bangalore manages to secure a victory. The RCB skipper is just one-win away from recording 50 wins as captain in IPL.

Kohli one win away from 50 IPL wins

Kohli, who has been leading RCB since 2011, has won 49 matches so far in 110 matches as captain for RCB. He will become only the fourth captain in the history of IPL after Dhoni (105), Gambhir (71) and Rohit Sharma (60) to win 50 matches. While the other three have nine titles combined under their belt, Kohli is yet to win the elusive title. RCB have reached the final on three occasions but are still searching for their maiden title.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli’s men will face a thought challenge against David Warner-led Sunrisers Hyderabad, who have a star-studded squad. They have got all their bases covered and have set their eyes on the illustrious trophy.

Speaking of Royal Challengers Bangalore, the top-order packed by Aaron Finch, Devdutt Paddikal, Virat Kohli, and AB de Villiers is certainly the best in the tournament. However, the management will want South African all-rounder Chris Morris to deliver the goods on his debut for Bangalore.

Although they lack a gun all-rounder, Bangalore will want Shivam Dube, Moeen Ali, and Morris to perform with both bat and ball. The key, meanwhile, will be leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal in the turning wickets of UAE.

Royal Challengers Bangalore face Sunrisers Hyderabad on September 21 (Monday) at the Dubai International Stadium.
