India beat England by 317 runs in the second Test in Chennai as the spinners shared all the 10 English wickets in the second innings. This also brought to an end England’s six-match winning streak in Asian conditions. The hosts thus are back in level-terms in the four-match series at 1-1. Ravichandran Ashwin was awarded the Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli (62) then added a 96-run stand with Ravichandran Ashwin (106) to bring India back into the game. A 49-run stand between Ashwin and Mohammed Siraj (16) helped India score 286 runs in the second innings and stretch the lead past 450. Earlier in the game, Ravichandran Ashwin picked up five for 43 with the ball to limit England to 134 in their first innings.
Meanwhile, after India’s win in the second Test in Chennai, Kohli interviewed local hero Ravichandran Ashwin and spoke about his experience of being a part of this Test match. Kohli asked him several questions on his improved gameplan and his development as a cricketer in the last couple of years.

India also moved up in the World Test Championship points table after the win. Meanwhile, the visitors have slipped to the fourth position after the loss while New Zealand regain the top spot. India are on 460 points with a percentage of 69.7 while England are on 442 points with a percentage of 67.
