Yesterday, James Anderson created history as he became the first fast bowler to touch 600 Test wickets. The England pacer on Day 5 of the third Test between England and Pakistan achieved the historic milestone. As soon as Anderson picked the wicket of Pakistan skipper Azhar Ali, the social media was at an unbelievable buzz.

Several former and current cricketers congratulated Anderson upon reaching the summit of this incredible feat. The Indian captain Virat Kohli also lauded Anderson on 600 Test wickets on Twitter and rated him one of the best bowlers he has faced in his career.

“Congratulations @jimmy9 for this outstanding achievement of 600 wickets. Definitely one of the best bowlers I’ve faced”, Kohli wrote on his official Twitter account.

The legendary duel between Anderson and Kohli throughout their career has been fascinating to watch. In 2014 Anderson had the best of Kohli when he played his first Test series in England. The star Indian batsman could only score a total of 134 runs in 10 innings during his horror Test series. However, Kohli turned the table in 2016 and 2018 Test series where he dominated the English fast bowler as he failed to dismiss him even once.

Meanwhile, Kohli scored 655 and 593 runs in 2016 and 2018 Test series respectively against England. The battle of Kohli and Anderson is considered to be one of the best in modern-day cricket. England is slated to play a 5 Test match series early next year and fans might see the last of the riveting rivalry between the two legendary cricketers.

Moreover, the last Test match between England and Pakistan ended in a draw. The hosts won the series 1-0 after they managed to win the exiting opening Test at old Trafford. Jos Buttler and Mohammad Rizwan were awarded the man of the series from their respective squads. England and Pakistan will now play a three-match T20I series beginning on Friday.
