Former Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Virat Kohli was recently spotted posing for pictures with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) players Rinku Singh and Harshit Rana. The two teams are set to clash in the IPL 2025 opener on Saturday, March 22, at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

RCB has already arrived in Kolkata and begun preparations for the season opener. During a training session, players from both sides interacted and exchanged greetings. KKR shared a post on social media featuring Kohli alongside Rinku and Harshit Rana, which quickly gained popularity among fans, amassing over 1.5 lakh likes within an hour.

Virat Kohli and Harshit Rana were last in action during Team India’s triumphant campaign in the 2025 Champions Trophy, where they defeated New Zealand by four wickets to secure their third title. Harshit featured in the initial matches but was later replaced to accommodate an extra spinner.

Kohli had a notable tournament, scoring 218 runs in five games at an average of 54.50, including a century and a half-century. Rinku Singh was not part of the Champions Trophy squad but attended the final against New Zealand at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. He later shared an Instagram post posing with the trophy.

Veteran batter Virat Kohli called on fans to support new Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Rajat Patidar during the RCB Unbox event at Chinnaswamy Stadium. The 36-year-old believes Patidar has the qualities needed to lead the franchise successfully.

“The guy who is going to come next, is the guy who is going to lead you for a long time. Give him all the love you can. He is an amazing talent, a great player we have all seen that but he’s got a great head on his shoulders. He’ll do a great job for this amazing franchise and take the team forward. He’s got everything that is required,” Kohli said.
