Virat Kohli is earning praise on social media after he was observed urging security personnel to handle a pitch invader with care during RCB’s match against RR in Jaipur on April 6.
The young fan, wearing an RCB jersey featuring Kohli’s name and number, managed to breach the barricade and enter the field. This wasn’t the first occurrence of a pitch invasion involving Kohli this season, as a fan had similarly intruded during the RCB vs PBKS match at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Following the incident, fans took to social media, alleging that the security personnel were rough in handling the pitch invader, as a video depicted him being handled roughly by officials. Likely aiming to avoid a recurrence of such incidents, Kohli then requested the security to handle the youngster with care.
In the video, Kohli can be heard saying ‘aaram se’, urging them to be ‘gentle’ with him. This video has since gained widespread attention as Kohli’s plea to security has resonated with many. This marked the third occasion where Kohli was involved in such an incident, as a fan had trespassed onto the field during India’s second T20I against Afghanistan earlier in the year. This match also marked Kohli’s return to T20Is for India.
