There were some notable performances in One-day international cricket during 2023. Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Mohammed Shami and Daryl Mitchell were nominated for the cricketer of the year in One-day international cricket last year.

Daryl Mitchell had a brilliant performance in the One-day international in 2023 for New Zealand. He made 1204 runs from 26 matches (25 innings) including 5 centuries and 3 half-centuries with the best score of 134 in the first semi-finals against New Zealand at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

He finished as the leading run scorer for New Zealand in the World Cup 2023 with 552 runs from 10 matches (9 innings) including 2 centuries and 2 half-centuries including the best score of 134 in the first semi-finals against India.
