Playing his first World Cup, Gill looked impressive with 352 from 9 matches (9 innings) with 4 half-centuries including the best score of 92 against Sri Lanka at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
- Daryl Mitchell
Daryl Mitchell had a brilliant performance in the One-day international in 2023 for New Zealand. He made 1204 runs from 26 matches (25 innings) including 5 centuries and 3 half-centuries with the best score of 134 in the first semi-finals against New Zealand at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
He finished as the leading run scorer for New Zealand in the World Cup 2023 with 552 runs from 10 matches (9 innings) including 2 centuries and 2 half-centuries including the best score of 134 in the first semi-finals against India.
- Mohammed Shami
Mohammed Shami performed brilliantly in the ODI format in 2023. He showed his class with some lovely bowling efforts that helped Team India register memorable victories.
Shami finished as the 3rd leading wicket-taker during 2023 in ODI format. He grabbed 43 wickets from 19 matches (19 innings) at an economy of 5.32 runs per over with best figures of 7 for 57 in the first semi-finals against New Zealand. During his brilliant run, Shami took 1-time four-wicket haul and then took 5 wicket haul four times.
He was the leading wicket-taker in the 2023 World Cup with 24 wickets from 7 matches ( 7 innings) at an economy of 5.26 runs per over. During his brilliant run, Shami took one four-wicket haul and three-wicket hauls including a match-winning spell of 7 for 57 in the semi-finals against NZ.
