Virat Kohli Signs Autographs For Fans At MCG During Boxing Day Test, BGT 2024-25

Team India stalwart Virat Kohli signed autographs for his fans in the stands after the day’s play during the Boxing Day Test against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The iconic cricketer faced criticism from Australian media and fans after a heated exchange with Sam Konstas on Day 1 of the fourth Test.

He was jeered by some local fans at the stadium while fielding and batting on the second day of the MCG Test. However, Kohli appeared to shrug it off as he was later seen interacting with fans in the stands, signing autographs and posing for pictures.

Virat Kohli scored a patient 36 in the first innings of the 4th India-Australia BGT 2024-25 Test

Australia, resuming the day at 311/6, posted a formidable 474, thanks to Steve Smith’s stellar 140 (197). Smith shared a 112-run stand with Pat Cummins (49) for the seventh wicket and added valuable runs with the tailenders to put his team in command.

India had a poor start, losing Rohit Sharma (3) in the second over. The struggling captain, returning to the opener’s role, fell cheaply again. KL Rahul (24) showed promise but was undone by a brilliant delivery from Pat Cummins.

Virat Kohli then anchored the innings with composure, leaving balls outside off and capitalizing on straighter deliveries. He built a crucial 102-run partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal (82), setting a solid platform for India.

As things seemed to be going well, Yashasvi Jaiswal was run out late in the day following a costly misunderstanding with Virat Kohli. The incident appeared to unsettle Kohli, who edged a wide Scott Boland delivery to the keeper shortly after.

It was a disappointing moment for Indian fans, as Kohli had worked hard, settled in, and looked poised for a big knock. Rishabh Pant (6*) and Ravindra Jadeja (4*) saw India through to stumps at 164/5 on Day 2, still trailing by 310 runs.
