Virat Kohli and Kyle Jamieson are currently teammates in the continuing IPL 2021. Both are playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and have only one goal which is to help the franchise win their maiden IPL title. Soon after IPL ends they will be rival once again when India and New Zealand lock horns in the ICC world Test championship final.
Virat Kohli Almost Tricks Kyle Jamieson Into Revealing His Plans
The inaugural WTC final will be played between India and New Zealand between 18-22 June at Southampton in England. Recently RCB all-rounder Dan Christian revealed how Kohli wanted Jamieson to bowl at him in the nets with the ‘Dukes’ ball. The duke ball is usually used in England and has the reputation of swinging more which makes life difficult for all batsmen.
Last year Kyle Jamieson had troubled Kohli in Test cricket which is why the Indian captain wanted to fine-tune his skills in the nets against him. Christian stated that Kohli wanted Jamieson to ball at him to bowl in the nets to gain some experience before the WTC final.
Nevertheless, Jamieson identified where Kohli was coming from and denied bowling to him with the Dukes ball which will be used in the final in England.

“Pretty cagey from Virat actually, right in the first week we were here. The three of us were sitting down after the nets and these two were talking about Test cricket. Virat said: ‘So Jamie (Kyle Jamieson) have you bowled much with the Dukes ball?’ and they are talking about that stuff,” he said.
“Jamie says: ‘Yeah, I have a couple of them here, I will have a bowl leading in before I go over there’ and Virat says ‘Oh, if you want to have a bowl against me in the nets, I am more than happy to fashion’. Jamie was like, ‘No chance I am going to ball at you!’ He would’ve looked at his release point and everything that he does with the Dukes ball! (chuckles)”, Dan Christian, during a chat with The Grade Cricketer.
