England’s batting line-up had a very good outing in the Lord’s Test against India. They managed to outshine India in the batting department. However, England captain Joe Root was once again the best performer with the bat. Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra is hoping that Kohli should take some notes from Joe Root’s book and score good runs in India’s second innings.
Notably, Joe Root is looking great in the Test series against India. In the first match at Trent Bridge, Nottingham he scored fifty and a century. When England entered in the Lord’s he smashed an unbeaten century in England’s first innings itself.

Aakash Chopra previewed Day 3 of the England India Lord’s Test match in his YouTube video. In the video he stated that Kohli should take inspiration from Joe Root’s innings, also former Indian cricketer feels that Kohli will have a good Day 4. Chopra elaborated:
“Virat Kohli will want to replicate what Joe Root is doing and that could start today. I am expecting Virat Kohli to have a good day, play an aggressive inning, maybe a 60-70 kind of knock, not a hundred but an innings that should change the momentum of this game towards India.”
Virat Kohli hasn’t had a great run in Test cricket recently. He failed to reach expectations in the first WTC cycle. Also, Kohli was dismissed on Duck in the first innings of the first Test at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. Meanwhile, in the Lord’s Test, he scored 42 runs in the first innings.

India will have to put some good runs on the board if they want to win the match. Openers KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma need to give a good start to India. Also, Indian Captain Virat Kohli, Vice Captain Ajinkya Rahane, and Test specialist Pujara need to contribute crucial runs to put a big score on the board. Meanwhile, India will expect Rishabh Pant to play an aggressive knock.
Cricketer turned commentator further added that he is expecting Kohli to play aggressive knock. Also, Aakash Chopra is having big expectations from Kohli heading into the Day 4 of the second Test. Chopra asserted:
“The situation when Kohli will come to bat, I feel he will be inspired that let me take the attack to the opposition, let me be very very aggressive and not reactive but proactive. I have great expectations from him,” opined Chopra.
When the Day 3 of the Lord’s Test ended England scored 391 runs and was having a lead of 27 runs. The main man of England’s batting unit was once again skipper Root who smashed a sensational 180 not out.
