Virat Kohli’s Nephew Joins South Delhi Superstarz Training Ahead Of DPL Season 2

Aryaveer Kohli, nephew of Virat Kohli and son of his elder brother Vikas Kohli, recently trained in the nets alongside Digvesh Rathi and other South Delhi Superstarz players as part of his preparations for the upcoming second season of the Delhi Premier League (DPL). The 15-year-old leg-spinner was bought for ₹1 lakh in the DPL auction held earlier this month.

Aryaveer has started his training under the mentorship of coach Sarandeep Singh. Lucknow Super Giants’ leg-spinner Digvesh Rathi was also present at the session, observing the young cricketer as he put in the hard work. Though Aryaveer is yet to represent Delhi at any level, he is all set to make his DPL debut this season.

He will be playing under the captaincy of Ayush Badoni for South Delhi Superstarz. PTI also shared a video of Aryaveer bowling in the nets on X (formerly Twitter).

Aryaveer Set To Gain Valuable Experience Under Digvesh Rathi In DPL

Digvesh Rathi is one of the most expensive players in the second season of the Delhi Premier League, having been bought by the South Delhi Superstarz for ₹38 lakh. The 25-year-old rose to prominence during IPL 2025, delivering an impressive campaign for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

In his debut IPL season, Rathi emerged as LSG’s top wicket-taker, claiming 14 wickets in 13 matches. He maintained an average of 30.64 and an economy rate of 8.25, consistently troubling batters and dismissing several top-order players. For 15-year-old Aryaveer Kohli, sharing the field and training with a performer like Rathi is a valuable opportunity.

The young leg-spinner can benefit greatly from Rathi’s IPL experience and insights. This DPL season also offers Aryaveer a platform to make a mark. With state-level leagues increasingly being recognized as stepping stones to the IPL, a strong showing could open doors for the youngster in the future.
