Former India legendary batsman Virender Sehwag is known for his witty sense of humour. Several times we have seen him speaking his mind on various digital platforms. Now Sehwag recently took a dig at Rohit Sharma after he missed out during the match against Chennai Super Kings.
The Mumbai Indians skipper was rested due to an injury and Saurabh Tiwary got another opportunity in the playing XI. Even without their influencing skipper, MI thrashed CSK by 10 wickets at Sharjah.
Virender Sehwag Takes A Dig At Rohit Sharma
Post the match, Sehwag in his unique style reviewed the match of IPL 2020. On his YouTube Channel ‘Viru ki Baithak’, Sehwag mocked Rohit Sharma’s fitness and called him ‘Vada Pav’. Also, Tiwary who was substituting Rohit too wasn’t spared by Sehwag as he hilariously termed him as ‘Samosa Pav’.
“Rohit was not playing. But so what if vada pav was injured? His spot was taken by samosa pav. I mean Saurabh Tiwary. Understood why?”, Sehwag said on his show.
Meanwhile, as soon as this video was posted it had all the cricket enthusiasts in splits. Sehwag once again demonstrated that he can still make the headlines even off the field. It will be interesting to see whether Rohit Sharma reacts on this or not as Sehwag has always acknowledged his elegant batting.
Coming back to the match, MI looked determined to settle some score against CSK who defeated them in the inaugural match of IPL 2020. The defending champions did just that as their bowlers were ruthless in the first half.
Trent Boult was lethal as he picked up 4 wickets whereas Jasprit Bumrah too showed his class. CSK only managed to make 114 after 20 overs which proved to be a walk in the park for MI.
Their new opening partnership of Ishan Kishan and Quinton de Kock alone chased down the target and handed CSK an embarrassing loss.
