In a rather hilarious manner Kings XI Punjab batting coach, Wasim Jaffer asked Australian speedster Mitchell Starc to join his franchise for the next IPL season. Starc has not been playing the IPL for a few seasons now. He has been busy keeping himself fit for the upcoming international season. Meanwhile, he will be making a comeback to the BBL after six seasons. The last time he played in the league was back in season four. Starc will be back in the tenth season with Sydney Sixers.
Cricket Australia tweeted about Starc’s return to the BBL after a long gap of six years. In a reply to that tweet, Jaffer posted a humorous reply with his tweet saying “humko join karlo” referring him to join KXIP next season.

Wasim Jaffer Keen to Rope in Mitchell Starc For IPL 2021
Kings XI Punjab finished sixth in the points table. The season was a season of two halves for them. They won just one of their first seven games, coming back to win five out of the next seven. Their skipper KL Rahul is still topping the Orange Cap list with 670 runs from 14 games. He also had a good season as captain, as he was at the helm of a terrific turnaround.
KXIP played two matches this season which were decided on the Super Over. They won one of those two games against Mumbai, which saw two back to back super overs.
They had a good all-round side with KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, Chris Gayle and Glenn Maxwell as big names in the batting line-up.
Chris Jordan, Mohammed Shami and Sheldon Cottrell are the prime bowlers for Punjab and the addition of Starc will bolster that attack all the more.
Talking of Starc’s IPL career, he played for RCB in 2014 and 2015. He took a total of 34 wickets from 27 games. He was released by the franchise in 2015. Kolkata Knight Riders had signed him up for the 2018 edition but he had to pull out due to an injury. In 2019, he missed the IPL to concentrate on the ICC World Cup and in 2020 he did not find any keen buyer.
