Chasing 128, vice-captain Shubman Gill had a short stay at the crease, scoring 10 runs off seven balls before being dismissed by Saim Ayub. Abhishek Sharma, however, played a fiery cameo, smashing 31 runs off just 13 deliveries, including four fours and two sixes, before falling to Ayub for India’s second wicket.
At the latest update, India were 48/2 after five overs, needing 80 more runs to win, with captain Suryakumar Yadav (3) and Tilak Varma (2) at the crease.
Kuldeep Yadav Takes 3 Wickets As India Limit Pakistan To 127
Pakistan, after electing to bat first, faltered early as Saim Ayub fell for a golden duck to Hardik Pandya’s first legal delivery. Jasprit Bumrah struck in the next over, sending back Mohammad Haris for just three runs. Axar Patel then removed Fakhar Zaman (17) and captain Salman Agha (3) in quick succession.
Kuldeep Yadav turned the game in the 13th over with a brilliant double strike, dismissing Hasan Nawaz (5) and Mohammad Nawaz (0) on consecutive deliveries. Shaheen Afridi tried to revive the innings, scoring an unbeaten 33 off 16 balls, including four sixes, as Pakistan managed 127/9 in their 20 overs.
Kuldeep was India’s standout bowler, finishing with 3/18 in four overs, while Axar Patel and Jasprit Bumrah contributed two wickets each.
