[WATCH] Abhishek Sharma Hits Third Duck As Aryan Dutt Strikes Early In IND vs NED

India opener Abhishek Sharma recorded an unwanted milestone in the T20 World Cup 2026 against the Netherlands at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, February 18. The left-hander was dismissed for his third consecutive duck, with Aryan Dutt claiming the breakthrough in the very first over.

Previously, Abhishek had been out for ducks against the USA and Pakistan and had missed the match against Namibia due to illness. His latest dismissal came when Dutt bowled a back-of-a-length delivery on middle and off, which skidded in at an angle.

Abhishek attempted an aggressive swipe after two dot balls but completely missed, and the ball hit the leg stump. Despite being the World No. 1-ranked T20I batter, he remains without a run in the tournament. Aryan Dutt picked up his fourth wicket of the T20 World Cup in the process.

Tilak Varma And Ishan Kishan Stabilize India After Early Loss Of Abhishek Sharma In T20 World Cup 2026

Tilak Varma and Ishan Kishan have steadied India after losing Abhishek Sharma cheaply in the T20 World Cup 2026 match. At the time of writing, the Men in Blue were 35/1 after four overs, with Varma and Kishan at the crease. India captain Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and made two changes to the playing XI.

Arshdeep Singh and Washington Sundar replaced Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel, respectively. The defending champions have not lost any game in the T20 tournament. With wins over the USA, Namibia, and Pakistan, they have already secured their place in the Super 8.

They will now look to continue their winning streak against the Dutch. The Netherlands, on the other hand, have managed only one win in their first three games and will aim to finish the tournament on a positive note.
