Akash Deep redeemed himself by taking the crucial wicket of Harry Brook on Day 4 of the third Test between India and England at Lord’s, held on Sunday, July 13. After conceding consecutive boundaries—two fours and a six—in his previous over, the pacer bounced back impressively by bowling Brook for 23 off 19 deliveries.
The breakthrough left England struggling at 87 for 4. The dismissal occurred in the 22nd over of England’s second innings when Akash delivered a full-length ball. Brook attempted a sweep but completely mistimed it, allowing the ball to sneak behind his legs and hit the stumps.
Having been punished in the earlier over, Akash had the final word with this key dismissal. Brook’s attempt to accelerate the scoring proved costly, as his aggressive intent led to his downfall. You can watch the video here:

Akash Deep Strikes Crucial Blow; India Dominate England On Day 4
India maintained their dominance over England on Day 4 of the third Test, thanks to a disciplined and effective bowling performance. Mohammed Siraj set the tone with two early wickets, removing Ben Duckett for 12 and Ollie Pope for just 4. Zak Crawley, who showed some resistance, was dismissed for 22 by Nitish Kumar Reddy.
Akash Deep later added to the pressure by claiming the wicket of Harry Brook, further tilting the momentum in India’s favour. At Lunch on Day 4, England stood at 98 for 4, with Joe Root and captain Ben Stokes holding the crease. Earlier in the match, both teams posted identical first-innings totals of 387.
Centuries from Joe Root (104 off 199 balls) and KL Rahul (100 off 177 balls) were the standout batting performances for England and India, respectively. With the ball, Jasprit Bumrah led India’s attack by claiming his record 13th five-wicket haul in overseas Tests, while Chris Woakes impressed for England with a three-wicket haul.
