[WATCH]- Akash Deep’s Fiery Send-Off To Duckett Followed By Brief Chat In 5th Test Drama

India fast bowler Akash Deep gave England opener Ben Duckett a fiery send-off after dismissing him on Day 2 of the ongoing fifth Test at The Oval on Friday, August 1. The breakthrough came as Akash broke the 92-run opening stand between Duckett and Zak Crawley. Duckett had played a quickfire knock of 43 off just 38 deliveries, laced with two sixes and five fours.

The wicket fell in the 13th over of England’s first innings when Akash Deep delivered a fuller ball outside off. Duckett attempted an audacious reverse scoop but got completely squared up and lost his balance in the process. After securing the dismissal, Akash got animated and celebrated right in front of Duckett, giving him an intense send-off.

Moments later, he tried to diffuse the tension by putting an arm around the departing batter and sharing a few words. Duckett, however, did not acknowledge the gesture and continued walking back to the pavilion. You can watch the video here:

Crawley And Duckett Power England To Strong Start On Day 2 Against India

A commanding batting effort from Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett saw England take control in the opening session of Day 2 in the decisive fifth Test against India. By lunch, the hosts were well-placed at 109/1, with Crawley unbeaten on a fluent 52 off 43 balls and stand-in skipper Ollie Pope on 12 off 16. England now trail India by 115 runs in their first innings.

Earlier in the day, India managed to add only 20 runs to their overnight total before being bowled out for 224. The visitors suffered a dramatic collapse, losing their final four wickets for just six runs. Karun Nair top-scored with 57 off 109 balls, while Washington Sundar contributed 26 from 55 deliveries. On Day 1, Sai Sudharsan had also chipped in with a patient 38 off 108.

India, led by Shubman Gill, trail 1-2 in the series. With the previous Test drawn, they must win this match to avoid another series defeat after recent losses to Australia and New Zealand.
