Arshdeep Singh on his choice to join Kent: “Lot of this goes to Rahul Dravid.”
Since the former Indian great had previously represented the county in 2000, Arshdeep Singh gave Indian head coach Rahul Dravid credit for Kent’s participation in the County Championship.
Arshdeep made the following statement in a video posted by Kent Cricket.
“Why Kent? I suppose a lot of this is thanks to Rahul Dravid. He told me about the history of this county and that he played for this team. And I want to play for this team because of that as well,” he said.
“Many young players back home have been inspired by him, and it was because of that that I decided to join Kent.”
The 24-year-old also gave the locker room a glowing review after joining the team, saying that it had a similar atmosphere to his home country.
“First and foremost, I’m really happy and excited to be here and a part of such a fantastic franchise.”
“It feels like home here, in my opinion; it’s just a little bit colder than home. As I’ve been told by the people back home. This county is great and has a really rich history.”
“Summers feel like winters here; the atmosphere is wonderful. The setting in the changing room is wonderful; and everyone has been wonderful to me.”
“I don’t know, maybe today is my first, and for that reason I’m hoping to accomplish some fantastic things with the team,”Arshdeep said.
