Arshdeep Singh made an early breakthrough as Quinton de Kock was dismissed for just eight runs in the second ODI between India and South Africa at Raipur on Wednesday, December 3. The left-handed opener attempted an aerial shot but ended up top-edging the ball after facing 10 deliveries. This wicket reduced the Proteas to 26 for the loss of their first wicket.
The dismissal occurred in the fifth over of South Africa’s chase. Arshdeep bowled a fuller-length delivery that swung away late, prompting de Kock to try hitting it over mid-on. He mistimed the shot, sending a top edge straight to Washington Sundar, who expertly took the catch while moving to his right at mid-on.
