Aryavir Sehwag, son of former Indian opener Virender Sehwag, revealed his favorite players in a ‘This or That’ game during the ongoing Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025. The 17-year-old chose Indian Test captain Shubman Gill over Abhishek Sharma, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, Shreyas Iyer, and Sanju Samson.

He also favoured Gill over former Indian captain MS Dhoni and current ODI captain Rohit Sharma. Later, Aryavir picked Virat Kohli over Shubman Gill, and even over cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, calling Kohli the greatest batter of his era. He further shared his wish to play alongside Kohli in the IPL.

“If it was retired players then Sachin Tendulkar but I would go for Virat Kohli as he is my era’s greatest batsman. My dream is to share the dressing room with Virat Kohli if I get an opportunity to play this soon in the IPL,” he said. (via InsideSport Cricket).

Virat Kohli has been associated with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) since the very first IPL season in 2008. In the recently concluded 2025 edition, RCB clinched their first-ever IPL title by defeating Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the final.

Aryavir Sehwag Joins DPL 2025 With ₹8 Lakh Price Tag

Aryavir Sehwag grabbed attention during the DPL 2025 auction when he was bought by the Central Delhi Kings for ₹8 Lakh. The 17-year-old, son of former India opener Virender Sehwag, is a right-handed opening batter like his father.

He has represented Delhi in various age-group tournaments and is also part of the Under-19 squad. Aryavir’s notable performances include a monumental 297-run innings in the 2024-25 Cooch Behar Trophy, the highest individual score of the season.

He also made an impression on his U-19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy debut in 2024, scoring 49 runs against Manipur. The Central Delhi Kings have played eight matches in DPL 2025, winning five and accumulating 11 points, placing them second in the standings. However, Aryavir is yet to feature in a game this season.
