England cricketer Harry Brook pulled off a stunning diving catch against Australia on the third day of the third Test in Ashes 2023 at the Headingley, Leeds. He avoided a mix-up with wicket-keeper Jonny Bairstow to complete a sensational catch to dismiss Mitchell Starc. England bowlers rattled through the Australian batting to bowl them out for 224 runs.
The first two sessions on day three were lost due to rain. Australia resumed their innings on 116/4 in the third session but lost quick wickets. Mitchell Marsh and Alex Carey were dismissed by Chris Woakes in quick succession. Mitchell Starc played a fine cameo before being dismissed by Mark Wood. He scored 16 runs off 19 deliveries, with two boundaries.
In the fifty-ninth over, Mark Wood bowled short of a length delivery on the stumps. Starc tried to flick the delivery, but the ball went up in the air. Harry Brook, who was at short leg, ran back, and stopped in between, due to the confusion with Jonny Bairstow. However, he dived in the end to pull off a great catch.

We don’t want to be reliant on Ben Stokes: Chris Woakes
England needs 251 runs in the fourth innings to win the third test of the 2023 Ashes at Headingley, Leeds. They finished day three at 27 runs, with both the openers, Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett unbeaten. England pacer Chris Woakes expressed that the team cannot rely on Ben Stokes, and the other batters need to step up in the innings. He said,
“It would be nice to do it a little bit easier. We don’t want to be reliant on Ben all the time. Although we do realise he’s (Stokes) superhuman, he can’t do it every time.”
“Across the board, from 1 to 11, we’ve got to put a good shift in and try and get us over the line. It’s an opportunity to do something special. There is more excitement than nerves. We are excited at the thought of chasing down a score, winning the Test and keeping ourselves in the series,” he added.
