Pakistani opener Babar Azam has also jumped into the wagon of utilizing the bail switch to shift the momentum in the side of the respective team. This incident happened during the second day of the first match of the series against South Africa in Supersport Park, Centurion. It brought laughter to the longest format of the game when Babar was observed trying to transfer the bails.

Eyes were landed on the bail-switching trend by the ex-England fast bowler Stuart Broad, who thought that replacing them might disturb the other side’s partnership or flow. After then, many more cricketers have followed this strategy, putting their own spins into it. In the real sense, the trend has evolved into a form of movie whereby players are attempting to outdo one another.

The most recent example can be Babar Azam, who tried to change the bails during Zimbabwe’s innings. Although it is still unclear to what extent the global experience is intended to be a serious strategy, it has, at least, provided the conflict with a humorous twist. Looking at figures: As the popularity of the trend increases, it is worth observing further developments of players who introduce new approaches to bail-switching.

Pakistan cricketer Babar Azam also applied another innovative method of flipping the bails in the hope of causing a wicket on the second day of the series opener against South Africa. While Temba Bavuma and Aiden Markram were composing a strict innings, Pakistan wanted to get rid of the duo.

Babar then changed the bails and in a few overs, Aamer Jamal got the wicket of Bavuma. Aamer delivered a late nipping-in ball that troubled Bavuma with his footwork, and a poor shot off the push followed. Rizwan Mohammad took a quite simple catch on the stump.

Bavuma got out at 31, on 74 balls, of which four were fours. Just before lunch, Pakistan started a brief fightback, and the hosts lost one more wicket on the day. The strategy of switching bails appeared to pay off for Babar and Pakistan, at least for a while.
