[WATCH]- Babar Azam’s Emotional Reaction In Tri-Series Final Goes Viral

Babar Azam’s emotional reaction during the tri-series final between Pakistan and New Zealand went viral. On Friday, February 14, he scored 29 runs off 34 balls, hitting four fours and a six, before being dismissed by Nathan Smith.

After his dismissal, Babar Azam appeared visibly dejected, dropping his bat and lowering his head in disappointment, seemingly accepting his fate. His reaction reflected his frustration over missing a crucial opportunity. Throughout the series, Babar managed only 62 runs in three matches, averaging 20.66 with a strike rate of 81.57.

Despite getting promising starts in two games, he failed to convert them into significant scores, struggling to find his rhythm. With the highly anticipated Champions Trophy commencing on February 19, Pakistan will be hoping for their star batter to regain his top form and lead from the front.

“Don’t refer to me as King”- Babar Azam

Previously, Babar politely asked his fans not to call him ‘King.’ The right-handed batter emphasized his unwavering focus on consistently improving his game and performance.

“Please stop calling me King. I am not King, I am not there yet. There are new roles for me now. Whatever I have done before is in the past. Every match is a fresh challenge, and I must focus on the present and future,” Babar told the media.

Pakistan will begin their highly anticipated Champions Trophy campaign against Tom Latham’s New Zealand in Karachi. Among the talented squad, Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, and Faheem Ashraf are the only experienced players from Pakistan’s memorable 2017 title-winning team set to feature in the upcoming edition.

Meanwhile, Babar recently became the joint fastest player to reach 6000 runs in ODIs, matching Hashim Amla’s incredible record by achieving the feat in just 123 innings. So far, he has amassed an impressive 6019 runs in 126 ODIs at an outstanding average of 55.73, including 19 well-earned half-centuries.
