[WATCH]- Ben Stokes Fumes Over Umpiring Call On Jaiswal’s Late DRS During England-India Clash

England skipper Ben Stokes confronted the on-field umpire on Day 3 of the second Test against India at Edgbaston after Yashasvi Jaiswal seemingly opted for a DRS review after the allotted time had expired. The incident occurred in the final session when Jaiswal was adjudged LBW off Josh Tongue.

After a brief discussion with his batting partner KL Rahul, the left-hander decided to challenge the decision. The controversy unfolded during the eighth over of India’s second innings. Jaiswal misjudged a full delivery from around the wicket, failing to connect with the bat and getting struck on the pads.

The umpire upheld England’s appeal, declaring the batter out. As the 15-second timer ran in the background, Jaiswal appeared to be deliberating with Rahul. However, by the time the decision to review was communicated, the countdown had already lapsed.

Despite the delay, the umpires allowed the review, leading a furious Ben Stokes to confront them and the Indian batters. KL Rahul tried to calm the situation as the umpire defended his decision. Ultimately, the delayed review had no impact on England, as the DRS showed all three reds, upholding the LBW decision and resulting in India losing a review in the innings.
