Bhuvneshwar Kumar is currently with the Indian squad on the tour to Sri Lanka. The second-string side landed in the Island Country on Monday and is staying at the Taj Samudra Hotel, Colombo.

The Indian team will play three One Day Internationals and as many T20 Internationals against the hosts. Shikhar Dhawan will lead the Indian squad in Virat Kohli’s absence. Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be his deputy for the tour.

The Board for Control of Cricket in India, on Wednesday, posted a video to mark social media day. Bhuvneshwar Kumar cherished some of his favorite Instagram memories in the video.

Bhuvaneshwar Kumar shared memories about a cricket bat from his childhood, for which all his friends have contributed money. He said:

“We (friends) all contributed to purchase this bat. Each one of us used to carry the bat home for 1-2 days. This picture was taken in my school uniform. I was so excited that I came home from school and picked up the bat straightaway.”

While speaking about an emotional post that he shared on MS Dhoni’s retirement, Bhuvaneshwar said, “I think I posted that on his retirement. Everyone knows what kind of a player he is. But I posted to explain what kind of human being he is. He always helps others. If you speak to anybody about Dhoni, they will all tell you about how helpful he is. He always gives guidance to all the youngsters”.

The Indian medium-pacer had shared photographs of himself with MS Dhoni and captioned it as:

“You taught us that all our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them. It was an honour to be a part of your cricketing journey. I have learnt so much from you Mahi bhai, your wisdom, your guidance has always helped me not only in cricket but for life as well. Happy retirement @mahi7781.”

Bhuvaneshwar Kumar also spoke about his bond with his wife, Nupur, and expressed how much he misses his pet dog Alex, who passed away a few months back.
