Venkatesh Iyer and Shruti Raghunathan got married on June 3, 2024, in a traditional South Indian wedding. The couple is preparing to launch their skincare and supplements brand, ‘rushr’, in the near future.
On the cricket front, Venkatesh attracted significant attention at the IPL 2025 mega auction. His name triggered a fierce bidding war at the event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Ultimately, the left-handed batter was re-signed by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for an impressive ₹23.75 crore.
“I Would Be More Than Happy To Take It On” – Venkatesh Iyer On KKR Captaincy
KKR are looking for a new captain after parting ways with former skipper Shreyas Iyer following their title victory in 2024. Venkatesh Iyer seems to be one of the top contenders for the role.
Following his re-signing with the three-time champions, Venkatesh expressed his readiness to take on the captaincy if offered. He was quoted by Hindustan Times saying:
“I’ve always believed that captaincy is just a tag, but leadership is about creating an environment where everyone feels they can play for this team and contribute. If given the responsibility, I would be more than happy to take it on. Absolutely (I’m ready for it).”
Venkatesh Iyer accumulated 370 runs in 13 innings at a strike rate of 158.79 during IPL 2024. He played a remarkable unbeaten knock of 51* runs from just 28 balls in the Qualifier 1 against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH).
