[WATCH]- Chaos Erupts As Fans Clash At Arun Jaitley Stadium During DC vs RR Match

During the IPL 2025 match between the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Delhi Capitals (DC) at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday, April 16, two fans were involved in a heated exchange in the stands. A video circulating on social media showed the two male spectators arguing, though the reason behind the dispute was unclear.

A similar incident occurred during an earlier match between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Delhi Capitals (DC) at the same venue, where groups of fans clashed in the stands. However, on Wednesday, the situation was swiftly brought under control as security personnel stepped in promptly.

The 18th season of the tournament has been action-packed so far, marked by several cases of pitch invasions by fans. In the opening match at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, a fan ran onto the field to approach Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star Virat Kohli. Similarly, during a game in Guwahati against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), a supporter of Riyan Parag also breached security to enter the pitch.

IPL 2025 sees its first Super Over thriller

The 2025 edition of the IPL witnessed its first Super Over when Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Delhi Capitals (DC) ended with identical scores of 188 on Wednesday. Mitchell Starc delivered both the 20th over and the Super Over, successfully defending nine runs in the former and giving away just 12 in the latter.

KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs then guided Delhi Capitals to victory, marking their fifth win in six matches this season. Starc’s impressive performance earned him the Player of the Match award. On the other hand, the Royals suffered their fifth loss in seven games, putting a serious dent in their playoff hopes.

Adding to their woes, 2008 IPL champions Rajasthan Royals now face an injury concern with skipper Sanju Samson, who was forced to retire hurt during the match against DC.
