[WATCH] CSK bowler Tushar Deshpande’s Double Breakthrough Unsettles The Batting Lineup Of PBKS

Chennai Super Kings’ bowler Tushar Deshpande made an impact by taking two wickets in his opening over against Punjab Kings as they aimed to pursue the 168-run target at Dharamshala on Sunday.

Deshpande entered the attack for the second over and promptly dismissed Jonny Bairstow with his third delivery before removing Rilee Rossouw on the last ball of the over.

PBKS skipper Sam Curran won the toss and opted for Chennai to bat first. The hosts gained an early breakthrough when Arshdeep Singh dismissed Ajinkya Rahane in the second over, with Kagiso Rabada taking the catch to remove the seasoned opener.

Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and Daryl Mitchell forged a partnership of 57 runs before Gaikwad fell to Rahul Chahar for 32 runs from 21 balls. Chahar struck again immediately, dismissing Shivam Dube for a golden duck, his second in two games, as he edged one to the keeper Jitesh Sharma.

Shortly after, Mitchell was dismissed by Harshal Patel after contributing 30 runs from 19 balls. Moeen Ali and Ravindra Jadeja then added 26 runs together before Ali was dismissed by compatriot Curran. Mitchell Santner’s innings of 11 runs from as many balls concluded when Chahar completed his three-wicket haul in the 16th over.

Harshal Patel also secured three wickets by removing Shardul Thakur and MS Dhoni in successive deliveries. Jadeja, who was the top scorer for CSK with a 43-run innings from only 23 deliveries, was dismissed by Arshdeep in the final over of the innings, caught by Curran.

After dismissing Jonny Bairstow, Tushar Deshpande finished the over strongly by also removing Rilee Rossouw. His delivery skidded on, catching Rossouw off guard, and disturbed his stumps.

Deshpande’s aggressive bowling put pressure on Punjab Kings at their home ground, and he was visibly excited after taking the wickets, contributing to CSK’s excellent start.
