[WATCH] Deepak Hooda’s Flying Catch Removes Daryl Mitchell In The CSK vs LSG Match

Deepak Hooda‘s outstanding catch sent Daryl Mitchell packing early in the IPL 2024 match between CSK and LSG at MA Chidambaram Stadium. Mitchell’s departure for just 11 runs off 10 balls left CSK at 49/2 after 5.2 overs.

The catch occurred in the sixth over when Yash Thakur’s back-of-a-length delivery tempted Mitchell to pull in front of the square. Hooda, stationed at mid-wicket, dove to his left to complete the spectacular catch, redeeming Thakur’s earlier drop in the second over.

Since joining the Chennai-based team this season, Daryl Mitchell has struggled to perform, only scoring 146 runs in seven matches. Meanwhile, Thakur has taken nine wickets in seven matches, which includes a five-wicket haul. His wicket tally might increase by the end of the Super Kings’ innings.

Ruturaj Gaikwad shines for CSK against LSG in the IPL 2024 match

Ruturaj Gaikwad impressed with the bat as he reclaimed his opening role, with CSK opting to exclude under-pressure Rachin Ravindra from the playing XI. However, the hosts suffered early setbacks with the dismissals of Ajinkya Rahane and Daryl Mitchell. At the current moment, CSK stands at 74/2 after nine overs, with Gaikwad and Ravindra Jadeja at the crease. Matt Henry and Thakur have each claimed a wicket for LSG in the match.

CSK aims to bounce back after their recent loss to LSG by eight wickets in their previous encounter in Lucknow. Nevertheless, they remain undefeated at Chepauk in three games so far. Conversely, LSG seeks to extend their winning streak. Interestingly, both Chennai and Lucknow have won four of their initial seven matches to date.
