Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter Devdutt Padikkal registered his maiden first-class double century during the 2025–26 Ranji Trophy semi-final on Monday, February 16. The fixture between Karnataka cricket team and Uttarakhand cricket team is being played at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
Padikkal reached the milestone in the 107th over of Karnataka’s first innings, taking a single off Abhay Negi to complete the landmark. The left-hander appeared emotional as he looked up at the sky before removing his helmet to acknowledge the applause.
His teammates and support staff rose to their feet to celebrate the captain’s achievement. While sharing the video on X, Board of Control for Cricket in India captioned the post:

Devdutt Padikkal earlier scored an unbeaten 120 against Punjab and has 532 runs in five matches at 66.50 this season, including two centuries and a fifty. Previously, he amassed 725 runs in nine innings at 90.62, with four hundreds and two fifties.
He will aim to carry this form into IPL 2026 with RCB, who retained him for INR 2 crore. Last season, he made 247 runs in 10 matches at a strike rate of 150.60 before being sidelined by injury.
Padikkal And KL Rahul Lead Karnataka Against Uttarakhand In Ranji Semi-Final
A dominant batting performance from Devdutt Padikkal and KL Rahul put Karnataka cricket team in control against Uttarakhand cricket team in the Ranji Trophy semi-final. Padikkal scored a superb 232 off 330 balls, including 29 fours and three sixes, while Rahul contributed 141 from 211 deliveries, striking 11 boundaries and five sixes.
Karun Nair also added a valuable 60 off 105 balls. At the time of writing, Karnataka were 502/5 in 122 overs, with R Smaran and Kruthik Krishna batting. Karnataka had earlier defeated Mumbai cricket team to reach the semi-final.
The other last-four clash is being played between Bengal cricket team and Jammu and Kashmir cricket team.
