[WATCH] Dhruv Jurel Hands Water Bottle To Fan Mid-Match In ENG vs IND 3rd Test

During the recently concluded Lord’s Test between India and England in London, a fan requested water from Team India’s wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel. Though not part of the playing XI, the 24-year-old was seated near the boundary line when he received the request.

Jurel responded by grabbing a bottle from a nearby box and tossing it to the spectator.

Although Dhruv Jurel was not part of the playing XI for the Lord’s Test, he stepped in as a substitute wicketkeeper after Rishabh Pant injured his left hand during the second session on Day 1. Jurel had also been left out of the starting lineup in the first two matches of the series.

Meanwhile, India endured a narrow 22-run loss at Lord’s on Monday, July 14, falling short while chasing a 193-run target. Ravindra Jadeja stood out with a resilient unbeaten 61 off 181 balls, but it wasn’t enough to secure victory. With this win, England now leads the five-match series 2-1. The fourth Test is scheduled to be held at Old Trafford in Manchester from July 23 to 27.

“Pant should split his match fee with Jurel!” – Dinesh Karthik’s hilarious take during ENG vs IND 3rd Test

After Rishabh Pant injured his index finger on Day 1 of the Lord’s Test, substitute Dhruv Jurel stepped in to handle the wicketkeeping duties. He continued behind the stumps during England’s second innings as well. Reacting to the situation, former India wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik jokingly remarked on-air that Pant should split his match fees with Jurel.

“Rishabh Pant should share his match fees with Dhruv Jurel.”

Despite the injury, Rishabh Pant delivered a solid performance with the bat in the first innings, scoring a valuable 74 off 112 balls. His innings came to an end via a run-out. In the final innings, however, he couldn’t make much of an impact, managing just 9 runs from 12 deliveries before being bowled by Jofra Archer.

Throughout the series, Pant has been in excellent form, accumulating 425 runs in six innings at an impressive average of 70.83.
