Dhruv Jurel, Team India’s wicketkeeper-batter, has received praise for his displays in the just-concluded five-match Test series against England, marking his debut in international cricket.
Jurel is poised to resume his participation in limited-overs cricket during the forthcoming IPL 2024 season, maintaining his association with the Rajasthan Royals (RR). The promising young player recently arrived in Jaipur to reunite with the team in preparation for the 2024 edition.
Upon Jurel’s arrival, Rajasthan Royals honored him with a guard of honor and saluted him as he entered the team hotel. The franchise shared the news of Jurel’s arrival on its official Instagram account.

Rajasthan secured Dhruv Jurel at his base price of ₹20 lakh during the IPL 2022 mega auction. Making his debut in 2023, he quickly established himself as a standout performer for the team. Excelling in the role of finisher, Jurel amassed 152 runs from 11 innings at an impressive strike rate of 172.72.
Last month, the 23-year-old debuted for Team India against England in Rajkot, scoring 46 runs in his maiden appearance. He showcased his batting prowess in the subsequent fourth Test in Ranchi, earning the Player of the Match accolade for his contributions of 90 and an unbeaten 39*.

Dhruv Jurel recently shared about his financial hardships, mentioning that his parents were burdened with significant debt before he secured his first IPL contract.
He stated that his salary from RR enabled him to settle the debt and purchase jewelry for his mother. In an interview with News24 Sports, Jurel remarked:
“There was a huge debt on my parents when I got my maiden IPL contract. I paid all the debt from my first salary, and also bought jewellery for my mother.”
Rajasthan fell just short of securing a spot in the IPL 2023 playoffs, ending fifth in the standings. The former champions concluded the league stage with seven victories and an equal number of defeats.
Led by Sanju Samson, the team will kick off their IPL 2024 journey with a match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium on March 24th.
