[WATCH]- ENG vs IND: Kamboj Bowls At Full Pace In Nets Ahead Of Potential Debut In 4th Test

Anshul Kamboj, recently added to India’s squad for the fourth Test of the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, was spotted bowling with impressive rhythm during a net session on Monday, July 21. A video shared on X showed him operating with his full run-up, testing the skills of Team India’s batters.

The team is currently in Manchester, gearing up for the upcoming Test that begins on Wednesday, July 23. Kamboj’s training footage can be viewed here:

Kamboj was part of the India A squad during their series against the England Lions earlier this year, where he claimed five wickets across three innings. He was drafted into the senior team after Nitish Kumar Reddy was sidelined due to a knee injury.

Adding to his chances of a debut, Bengal pacer Akash Deep, who played a key role in India’s victory in the second Test at Edgbaston, is reportedly dealing with an injury. This opens up an opportunity for Anshul Kamboj to feature in the playing XI on Wednesday.

Another development that boosts Kamboj’s prospects is the injury to Arshdeep Singh, who hurt his bowling hand during a net session last week and was expected to play in Manchester.

England Hold 2-1 Lead In Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy

England hold a 2-1 lead in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy after registering victories in the first and third Tests at Headingley and Lord’s, respectively. India claimed a win in the second Test at Edgbaston. In the third Test at Lord’s, India were set a modest target of 192 in the fourth innings.

However, they fell short due to poor execution of their batting plans, while England applied disciplined and well-structured bowling strategies. Ravindra Jadeja was the standout performer for India, remaining unbeaten on 61. Unfortunately, he received minimal support from the rest of the batting lineup and was left to battle alone as the chase fell apart.
