[WATCH]- Five Sixes In A Row Power Hardik Pandya To 68-Ball Century In Vijay Hazare Trophy

Team India all-rounder Hardik Pandya produced a sensational assault, hammering 34 runs in a single over, including five successive sixes, to bring up a 68-ball century for Baroda in their Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025–26 group-stage match against Vidarbha.

The explosive knock came in his first List A appearance since the 2025 Champions Trophy final, as he helped Baroda recover from a precarious position in Rajkot on Saturday, January 3. Walking in at No. 7 with Baroda reeling at 71/5, Pandya counterattacked to stabilise the innings alongside his brother Krunal Pandya.

He unleashed his fury in the 39th over, taking left-arm spinner Parth Rekhade apart with five consecutive sixes to move within touching distance of his maiden List A hundred.

Although he fell just short of hitting six sixes in the over, Pandya sealed the milestone by striking a four off the final delivery to reach three figures.

Hardik Pandya’s blistering innings came to an end in the 46th over when he was dismissed by Yash Thakur after scoring 133 off just 92 balls. His explosive knock, laced with eight boundaries and 11 sixes, powered Baroda to 258/8 in the death overs after they had endured a difficult start.

Hardik Pandya Recently Hit India’s Second-Fastest T20I Fifty Against South Africa

The all-rounder has looked in outstanding touch since making his comeback from the quadriceps injury he suffered during the 2025 Asia Cup. He played a key role for Baroda in the 2025–26 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, smashing an unbeaten 77 against Punjab to steer his side to a massive 223-run chase in Hyderabad.

Pandya carried that momentum into the five-match T20I series against South Africa, registering two half-centuries. He brought up his fifty in just 16 balls in the fifth match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on December 19, the second-fastest T20I half-century by an Indian, behind only Yuvraj Singh’s iconic 12-ball fifty at the 2007 T20 World Cup.
